All the changes to the blog website are now done though I need to add some anchors to the Golden Rings pages. I’m also preparing to take Golden Rings to multiple pages as the current one is through chapter 21 and getting pretty large. The latest on the blog is two TBBT one shots and a couple of new chapters on Golden Rings.

When I wrote the Elliptical Threads I always had the disclaimer every day to use as a warm up to writing. Because the Wanderer Thread is original I don’t need to write those anymore so this is my substitute. What’s going to be here I have no idea it just may be the weather report and a description of whatever screwy mood I’m in that day. Let’s start with where what and when.
It’s 11:25 in the morning of a lovely spring day. It’s a warm and wonderful day on the downstairs deck under the canopy at Casa SlightlyOffKey. Morning coffee in hand I just finished editing the last 5 chapters of The Wanderer Thread and answering emails and twitters. I’m watching my quirky pit bull mix Shadow play in the yard. I hope everyone is enjoying Wanderer right now it’s really the calm before the storm. We’re going to be on the boat for a day or so though it wasn’t planned that way. Enjoy the show

I hope you enjoyed last night’s chapter, it really wrote itself very swiftly. We’ll see where today takes us. Now onto today, another lovely day 80 degrees though I was on the road all morning as per the usual Monday. That job may be winding up in the next few weeks for at least a while when I turn it over to the group to do their pieces.
It’s always fun to learn something new but many times its pretty tedious also. Our heroine is learning something new and loving at the moment. Sailing is so incredible in fine weather and a good wind. Let’s hope they have a good downhill run back to English Harbor. I hope your enjoy things.

I guess writing another chapter today is in the cards, now if I finish it or not tonight is probably the question. I have odd thoughts on Tuesday. I try not to relate this to the wine tasting we do at lunch today but there could be some relationship I suppose. I dealt with AT&T tech support vicariously through one on my partners today. They were all very sweet, spoke English, seemed to be American and could not solve a single issue. But they are going to call us back tomorrow. I’m so glad it was him on the phone and not me. It probably didn’t help with me laughing and making snide comments throughout the five different calls. Did I mention I have a wicked sense of humor? It’s actually getting hot today, over 80 but we have a nice afternoon wind. It’s not the trade wind you get in the Carib but it brings me back.

I’m starting early today though I will be interrupted within the hour with other duties that need to be performed. Here are some insights into the Wanderer Threads, approximate length goal about 140000 words in two or three parts. A certain amount of music is involved the first part of the book relates to Colbie Caillat’s song “What Mean the Most to Me” and Crosby Stills and Nash’s Southern Cross. There are some others that are on the play list but those two really put the character and the story in the right framework. The characters have all got a shared ghost in their past. One doesn’t even know what the ghost is just knows it’s there. That’s another set of music and when I start writing it I’ll let you know what it is.

Back out on the deck getting ready to write beer in hand today for a change. What should we talk about today, let’s see. The rise of vampire fiction, nah to boring, how many necks have to be bitten by people who live forever for us to get over this one? Since when did vampires become not evil. I think I’d rather have a good succubus story, She would be a reluctant demon using sex to suck the life out of her prey would haunt her. It would be a story of her striving with her hunger until she must feed and then trying to find the most deserving victims of an incredibly erotic death. Keeping at arm’s length the person she does care about because to consummate the relationship would bring him death and damnation. Is it all dark or is there some redemption she can hold out for? Screw Vampires I want to hear that story. Maybe I’ll write it.

It’s early, I just want to stay home and write today. But the road calls heading north again today. I just want to stay home on the deck and write I want finish chapter 14. Start on a one shot piece for TBBT Fanfiction and write a add on celebration piece for Elliptical Threads.
I’m back, chapter 14 has just went up, I’m really too tired right now to start anything new but a couple of hours from now I’m sure I’ll be getting sweaty palms and start writing something. Come on weather this 60 degrees crap is killing me. Tropical heat wave global warming whatever hurry up.

I’m working from home today. Yes, that means I can work on anything want though from the picture on the left you can see Wanderers notebook. Everything below that is actually work that also needs written, reported, read or in general be considered. It’s nice to get a day to catch up even If I’m accepting calls today. A lovely cup of long cut Earl Gray tea, yum. Even with a cloudy and rainy day today it’ll be nice to work on several pieces today. Starting with Wanderer then we’ll see where else it goes. Answers to two questions: “I noticed chapter 13 changed when I went back and read it.?” Yep sure did, re-wrote parts of it mostly cleaned up the language and cleared up some choppy parts. All the chapters are different from the night I publish them. I tinker a lot as I re-read and edit. Nothing major most of the time but it’s a living piece right now. Unlike Elliptical Threads which though I may add to it I won’t any more changes to it. But if anyone wants to volunteer to do a full edit I’d be willing to look at the results. Well Now that I’m warmed up I should really get started this is going to be a interesting day.

I’m watching the rain fall this morning across the valley from my window. Splendid day if you’re a frog or pond scum. Not so much if you’d like to sit on the deck and write but there you go Oregon weather. It is green and beautiful today though. The trees and fields beckon to be sat under and walked upon were it not for the rain. It is dark and dreary today yet I feel like sunshine is out there shining on me.

Part I of The Wanderer Threads is now complete. There have been a couple of offers on it already but I think I’ll hold out until Part II is done then we’ll shop it around some. Part II is now only available on the blog with Part I still on FictionPress.com and the blog. So the complete story is only available here. The next part of the tail is a regression, a tale starting with web coming to Klamath Falls in 1993 for his last year of High school. Then the year 2000 one wonderful summer that somehow went wrong in the end for two young lovers. That’s the essence of Part II hope you’re up for it the first chapter starts tonight.

Sure feels like a great day to write after a long morning of golf, lunch out at my favorite bistro 38 Central. We had a lovely wine at lunch and talked to the wine maker at length regarding his release. It’s a really lovely hot day actually almost 90 degrees with thunderheads rolling in this afternoon. For those of you following the threads the last chapter was a hybrid chapter of the past and the future. What will tonight’s chapter bring? A beginning I hope

I had a discussion last night with a wonderful friend of mine about redemption and religion, etc. It got me thinking about the word redemption it just means the process of redeeming:
But here are a couple of more focused meanings
Redemption (theology), an element of salvation to express deliverance from sin
Redemption, absolution for the past sins and/or protection from damnation
Redemptive suffering, a Roman Catholic belief that suffering can partially remit punishment for sins if offered to Jesus
But if the meaning is the process of redeeming we find then redeeming’s definition is:
“Serving to offset or compensate for a defect”
The next chapter has a lot to do with harm both intended and imagined. Some things must be redeemed, but two other words are there also. Retribution and Reckoning when these words are put with redemption the debt you are redeeming will be paid in blood whether the debtor likes it or not.
So for those of waiting patiently to see what happen all those years ago that’s what the next chapter will be about. It may take a while to write and It won’t be out unless until it’s just right.

Chapter 30 of the Wanderer Threads is now on the blog as well as some new/old poetry under Random Renderings. The writing has had to slow down a little with the time pressures of work and summer closing in. The Wanderer Threads are still on schedule for completion in mid-July part II will be ending in few more chapters and then the final part will begin. Where the story goes and finishes is uncertain I only work a few chapters out and I know how it will end but everything in between is a mystery even to me.

What a lovely day to sit on the deck and write for several hours 70 degrees a nice breeze music playing. The vagaries of the real world are of course intruding lately but the story goes onward. Working on Chapter 32 today it should be out tonight or tomorrow. Hope all of you are enjoying your summer and finding peace and fulfillment.

Happy 4th everyone! It appears a great day to write a little bit. Yesterday was fun a new piece of prose Questioning was added to the Random Renderings. For some reason in the evening I had a Big Bang Theory the result was a one chapter short story called Slight Momentum Change. I hope my TBBT fans out there will enjoy it. What’s on for today will be the start of chapter 34 and perhaps it’s completion so many things to do today. Beer to be drank fireworks to be watched, children to be entertained. Best wishes to friends under the weather and to new and old fans. I’ll leave you with this which I wrote for a young writer yesterday.

It’s hot, first day in the nineties today and you can feel it, It’s nice though in the shade of the deck. I’m thinking about characters today. By now you’ve all got to meet Reverend Riley, is he evil or just really screwed up. He’s probably both to be honest with you a very deep seated sociopath really. We’re going to meet a new character today, how big a part he plays in things we’ll see. A minor character may leave the world this chapter or the next. We really never got to know him very well and frankly he was a follower and not really very interesting. Is the story turning darker? Yes it was always intended too. Could it get more disturbing? Probably. The end of Part II is rapidly approaching and the Threads Journal will start going out as a blog post as well as a page from now on.

So when will the next chapter and Part III of the Wanderer Threads start I’ve been asked. Let’s start out with what I’m doing right now. I’m editing part I and Part II right now and that will take several more days. Writing wise I’m working on prose in Random Renderings and several pieces of fan fiction for The Big Bang Theory. The latter are all short pieces to entertain myself and others and it seems to be accomplishing both. There are three new short story pieces for TBBT starting with Slight Momentum Shift which is complete at the moment. Then there is Star Destroyer which I just seem to be finding more stuff for all the time. Finally there is Secret Rendezvous. If you’re a TBBT fan fiction reader I’m sure you will enjoy all three though you may be shocked or shaken in them for a few moments. Part III of Wander Threads should start sometime next week after Part II is edited. Enjoy and as always I enjoy your comments and emails

Part I and Part II of the Wanderer Threads has had its first full edit completed. No real large changes but a lot of clean up. The story has not been changed in any significant way. The first chapter of Part III will be out next week or even perhaps tomorrow. We are going to be making a fairly large time jump but I’ll fill you all in with the first chapter. In other writing adventures Secret Rendezvousand Star Destroyer are being written in tandem there are new chapters out for each. The two stories are starting to become linked together with Secret Rendezvous being the proposal and marriage sequence of events and Star Destroyer being the married couple and their friends seven year later. These are fun shorter pieces. The chapters are shorter really just scenes sometimes. There is not plan or plot for the story it’s just an improvisation really but they make me laugh and are fun to write. So enjoy and look forward to the next installment of Wanderer Threads coming from a keyboard near me soon.

The first two chapters of Part III of Wanderer Threads are now on the blog. The story is progressing though Webb and Kacey are apart at the present. They are never really separated in heart or thought. The Secret Rendezvousand Star Destroyer short stories are complete with the same last chapter. There is iBook and Kindle versions of both on their pages as well as a version of the combined story (Secret Star Destroyer Rendezvous), at these links iBook andKindle. There is now page for the combined story though it is available on the FanFiction as well.
These two Big Bang Theory Fan Fiction short stories were total improvisations that started out as two separate ideas several days apart. The first was to write a story about Leonard planning a new way to propose to Penny and her spying on him to figure out what he was doing. It hit me when it was done that it would be fun to see Leonard’s point of view of the same day. The story progressed from there. This became the Secret Rendezvous story with each chapter named in a spy theme. The second story I was thinking about how Amy did role playing games with Sheldon at the end of the season. I wanted to write a story where they were together and give it a few twists. Leonard and Penny’s child was the answer and Uncle Sheldon and Aunt Amy were born. As I wrote each story alternating which chapter I was writing each day I realized they could become connected. I continued to improvise each chapter knowing that in the end the Secret Rendezvous was a story being told in Star Destroyer. I had a wonderful time writing both and the readers seemed to really enjoy them.
I finished Chapter 38 of Wanderer Threads tonight and posted it so were all up to date. I’ll be writing tomorrow again, maybe a new Wanderer chapter or something else. We’ll see.

What have I been working on? It’s a new fan fiction piece called Winding Road Home it’s really kind of my own mini season 6 of the Big Bang Theory. Leonard’s health is at question and Penny is forced to come to grips with how she feels. But that’s just the first few episodes. The story is set in scenes per episodes, two chapters per episode, 2 or more scenes per chapter. This one will stay very close to the canon and the characters. Latest chapter of Part III of Wanderer Threads is on the blog. It has a very nice flow to it. The next chapter should come out tomorrow sometime. Prose is a possibility tonight also as the mood strikes me. Winding Road home has brought back some rather difficult memories that should be expressed in those terms I suppose.

I had some one ask me the other day why I started writing Fan Fiction again for the Big Bang Theory. I’d gone on hiatus on anything but original fiction and prose after I finished Elliptical Threads. But I hadn’t really quit, I reedited and rewrote the pieces I’d been working on including all 135000 words of Elliptical Threads. I finished all the pieces and took the originals of all the shorter pieces off Fan Fiction and put up the finished versions. It would have been too much work to break ET back into chapters so the original is still on Fan Fiction. The edition on the blog is the final addition that I converted to PDF, Kindle and iBook. I was starting Wanderer Threads and working on prose after that. I really did not pay attention to Fan Fiction except for people finishing up some really long pieces I followed and of course reviews. I always answer people.
After getting the first two parts of Wanderer completed I took a break to edit the work and caught up on what was on Fan Fiction. I had a couple of screwy ideas about the way the season ended I thought I would explore. The results were tow tandem pieces Star Destroyer and Secret Rendezvous. They were written between chapters of Wanderer and really just tongue in cheek looks at a future of Leonard and Penny as well as Sheldon and Amy. The two pieces ended up combined in the end Secret Rendezvous dovetailed into Star Destroyer. Thus I put up Secret Star Destroyer Rendezvous. Really a tongue in cheek posting but it tends to get a lot of readership.
I write fan fiction for TBBT as a diversion and an enjoyable interlude. I have no ships to grind, no particular canon to glamourize of follow so I’m always amazed how passionate some readers are when I won’t write a Sheeny tale or that I like the romance side of Leonard and Penny. I enjoy their passion for my humble work. No work I’ve read on Fan Fiction is totally without merit. Some are poorly written great ideas, some are well written improbable or unreal ideas. I don’t write beginnings middles and ends, I write stories, the journey to the ends. Sometime stories start in the middle. The Wanderer Threads is that kind of tale. It starts long after a sequence of events caused the beginning. I just don’t get to it until the middle.
Now as to Winding Road Home. It’s is not a single story, it starts out as one very series issue and goes over 3 episodes then we go forward into a big bang season. It’s more of an experiment in style to write an audience POV piece. TBBT is famous for dropping something that happened in a previous episodes and moving onto entirely new themes. I’m trying to retain some themes throughout mostly to do with relationships. We’ll see how far my little mini season goes. To write a full season would be 48 chapters. Not sure I’ll go that long.

Wanderer Threads is almost complete and I already have an idea for my next book, several books actually. So if one thing stops another will start, I’ll never stop writing. Keep reading.

Hey you, answers to your questions: 52, blue, lovely and in the eighties, and no I have not started the next chapter of Winding Road yet. Yes I am starting a new book. Yes Wandering Home is in the copyright process right now. If you would like to read the final version just email and ask and I’ll send a PDF of it to you so you can read it. Yes it is slightly different than the serialized version on the blog. It’s also much more polished and complete.
The new book will also go on the blog in a serialized format as I write it. That should start by the end of October. I will start working on a new episode of Winding Road on Sunday night. It will be the drive back to Nebraska with Leonard and Penny. The continuing story of Amy and Sheldon will be there. A double date with Raj, Selene, Bernie and Howard may be a possibility as well.
